Our lives are comprised of stories we tell ourselves and pass to one another. They are not static
or finite but change and develop throughout our lives. Reflecting my theater background, this
piece is a story within a story. Neither heroine is static. They are caught mid-action—mid-
narrative. They represent the tensions of navigating life. Do they recognize the existence of one
another and how they may interact? How much do we allow ourselves to be the star of our
narrative?
Hand built porcelain stoneware with layers of ceramic and cold finishes. She sits on a handmade
theater box harnessing the suspension of disbelief using clouds on sticks as props and a garden
represented by a few hand made flowers. We are meant to understand this story is staged, but
nevertheless sincere. The larger female has a hand made skirt and is adorned with antique
venetian glass. Her raindrop prop is hand made with antique clock chains.
